Our first programme highlights the work of Tim Watt and David Stoten. After working together on the show Spitting Image, the pair collaborated on the Oscar Nominated short film "The Big Story". Nominated in 1994, the short failed to win the Oscar but did garner a BAFTA and lead to a series of ads for Brisk Ice Tea. Among the memorable ads not shown here were parodies of Sly Stallone and Danny Devito. Click on the thumbnail to view the clips.

The Big Story
The Oscar Nominated short that started it all.
This classic shows three stages of Kirk Douglas'
storied
career; the punk kid, the swaggering leading man, and
the grizzled veteran. All brillantly impersonated by Frank
Gorshin- yup, the Riddler from the Batman series.

James Brown Test
The best five seconds of animation on the Web.

.

Brisk Ad: Bruce Lee vs the Karate Kid
Not many ads have matched this calibre.
"Editing mistake... in my favour."

.

Brisk Ad: Planet Hollywood
A nice bit of associative humour here. George Jefferson
always wanted to kick 'Willis' ass on "The Jeffersons".

.

Brisk Ad: Jailhouse Rock
What if all the rockin' jail birds had done time together?
Elvis, James Brown, Willie Nelson and is that Coolio?

.

Sketches
Tim Watt & David Stoten's sketches show their skill
as caricturists. Watt and Stoten worked on the British
satirical show "Spitting Image", where folks such as
Pope John Paul
II, Margaret Thatcher & Ronald Reagan
were regularly lampooned.
